Upscale Furniture and Décor Store at Galleria
An upscale indoor/outdoor furniture and décor store joined The Galleria in Edina, MN. The Galleria is the Midwest’s most uncommon shopping experience. It is located just south of Downtown Minneapolis and offers exclusive home furnishings, fashion, and dining.
In the 1860’s, Edina originally began as a small farming and milling town. It become an incorporated suburb of Minneapolis in 1888 and is known today for the high quality of life it offers its residents.
The Vision
The hope for the storefront was that the curb appeal would elevate and match the aesthetics and quality of the furniture company and the community that the building is located in. Edina is known for its shopping and the clientele of the furniture company appreciate quality. Natural stone was selected to articulate the vision of the store owner and designer.
Selecting the Stone
The architect and designer chose Quarry Mill’s Nob Hill real thin veneer for the storefront. The blend of tones and textures of the stone complemented the overall architecture beautifully, giving the building a refined, cohesive, and high-end appearance.
About Nob Hill
Nob Hill is a natural thin limestone veneer cut specifically for a drystack installation. The individual pieces of stone show the splitface or interior part of the stone and are sawed to heights of 2”, 5” and 7”. Nob Hill is imported from Israel and comes from a historic quarry that has been operational for thousands of years. Nob Hill showcases off-white, beige, and soft gray tones.
Completing the Project
Nob Hill was installed on both the exterior and interior of the commercial building. The stone was used on the exterior façade to enhance durability and elevate the architectural design. It was also incorporated inside the building to create a cohesive, high-end aesthetic throughout the space. The consistent texture and tight-fit installation helped tie the exterior and interior elements together for a unified, polished look.
