Wheat Ridge Natural Thin Stone Veneer

Wheat Ridge is an earth tone natural sandstone veneer with a unique range of textures.  The stone falls into the time-honored fieldledge style which comprises a rough mix of linear and irregular-shaped pieces.  Wheat Ridge is a quarried stone with some fieldstone characteristics due to the more loosely layered stone from the Wheat Ridge quarry than a typical shelf rock quarry.  Fieldstone refers to stone from the top layers of the quarry where the pieces are mixed in the top layer of dirt.  Due to the loose layers of the Wheat Ridge quarry, there is significant dirt or what is called overburden throughout the layers of stone.  The loose layers give Wheat Ridge its color as the stone has been stained by the soil over the millennia.
