Asheville Natural Thin Stone Veneer

Asheville is a unique splitface castle rock natural thin stone veneer. The stone showcases earthly brown tones with tans and light copper tones. The texture is relatively smooth due to showing the interior splitface finish.

Asheville is our only castle rock style split-face natural thin stone veneer. Splitface refers to the interior part of the stone that is exposed when the stone is split with a hydraulic press. The machine-cutting process which creates the splitface does not lend itself to the large pieces required for the castle rock style. Typically, the hydraulic press breaks large sheets of quarried stone but with Asheville, smaller pieces of fieldstone are split. This labor-intensive process of the splitting fieldstone involves five splits per piece (four to make the rectangle and one to expose the inner part of the stone).
