Calgary is a dimensional ledgestone thin veneer cut from natural granite. The stone is intended to be installed with a drystack, mortarless, or tight-fit installation. The pieces are cut into 2”, 4”, 6” heights with random lengths. Calgary has soft blue and gray tones with the classic salt and pepper speckles granite is known for. The stone isn’t extracted in the traditional sense of quarrying from the ground; to make Calgary large blocks are cut from the side of a cliff made of solid granite. The stone is sawn into smaller blocks of usable sizes which are then split with a hydraulic press and lastly sawed again into the thin veneer. Calgary exclusively shows the splitface or the interior of the natural granite.
