Galaxy is a hand-sorted natural castle rock style limestone veneer. The stone is sorted for its black colors and comes from only a very small portion of the quarry. With the quarry spanning hundreds of acres, the unique black stone comes from a small roughly 10-acre plot. The surrounding stone is grey. Geologists have not come to a consensus as to why the stone in this singular small area of the quarry has the black color. Millenia ago the area was covered by the sea and it is speculated that a disturbance in the area changed the mineral composition. Aptly named Galaxy for its black and white tones, this is a beautiful and rare real stone veneer.
