I chose to go with Rochester and after installing over 800 feet I couldn’t be happier with the finished look! I am thrilled I decided to use real stone over manufactured. It has an organic look that cannot be duplicated. It is comforting knowing that over time it will not fade or deteriorate. Thank you for giving my home a timeless look that will last a lifetime.
Rochester is a multicolored castle rock style real stone veneer. The pieces are all roughly rectangular with a variety of warm colors. Whereas some stones break very cleanly with the hydraulic press and will crack exactly on the pressure point, Rochester does not. The grain within the stone creates a natural irregularity within the pieces. The quarry from which Rochester is mined is uniquely layered; the stone comes out in roughly 1” sheets. Due to the natural layering, we are able to split the backs of the Rochester pieces as opposed to sawing them. The lack of sawing on the back has no impact on the installation or durability but makes Rochester a very cost-effective premium option.
