Vail is natural thin cut sandstone with an earthy variety of colors and textures.  The stone pieces are all hand-picked fieldstone.  Fieldstone, in this sense, is the top layer of the quarry. Vail’s stones are the pieces that have separated from the bedrock and have been pushed up through the soil layers by frost over the years.  Some of the pieces of stone are manually pulled from the dirt and other pieces have been exposed to the sun for years creating stunning variation.  Vail is subject to heavy variation with no two production runs being the same; this adds one-of-a-kind uniqueness.
