Colonial is a natural sandstone veneer in the fieldledge style. Fieldledge real stone veneer is best described as a blend of ashlar and mosaic style pieces, although, Colonial will also have some larger rectangular castle rock type pieces. The application photos of Colonial are diverse and truly show how the masonry contractor, homeowner, or designer can impact the finished look. The individual pieces of stone can be installed more linearly with the mosaic pieces used as “jumpers” where they jump up to the next course of stone. They can also be installed in a more mosaic style without the defined linear courses of stone. It is important to keep in mind that the mason will always do some field trimming to adjust the stone on site.
