Cypress Lake is a custom blend of natural thin quartzitic sandstones. Our custom blend of stones adds beautiful variation to the finished product.  Although our quarrying locations for Cypress Lake are only miles apart, the differences in the stones are quite drastic.  Cypress Lake stones are all extremely hard and dense quartzite with the color variations coming from the differences within the mineral composition at each excavation site.  The first site is not a quarry in the traditional sense as the stone from this site is literally being pulled from the side of a mountain.  This location has higher iron content giving Cypress Lake the greys, tans, and rust tones.  The second location is a true quarry where the stone is excavated from below the ground giving the more consistent soft brown tones.
