Loire is a dimensional style natural limestone veneer. The stone has a formal appearance with clean and consistent lines. Loire is uniquely cut from the natural bedface of the shelf rock limestone quarry. The bedfaces are the tops and bottoms of the natural stone slabs. Most dimensional style stones are exclusively splitface (cut from large interior blocks of stone). To create Loire, the natural slabs or sheets of limestone are cut by a laser-guided overhead saw also known as a gantry saw. The saw cuts the stone in strips of 2.25”, 5” and 7.75”. 10.5” heights are available upon request for large-scale projects at no additional cost. The strips are split with the hydraulic press before being sawn into thin veneer.
