After visiting several local stores, we chose the online store Quarry Mill to purchase Monroe stone from. The staff was great to work with; knowledgeable, and very attentive. The stone is very durable and looks greats. We could not be happier and would highly recommend purchasing from Quarry Mill.
Monroe is a castle rock style natural granite thin stone veneer. The stone falls into the castle rock style due to the rectangular shapes, however, it is more rough cut than many of our other castle rock options. The granite slabs Monroe is cut from do not split as clean and evenly as our limestone, sandstone, or quartzite slabs. Monroe is a mix of blue and grey tones. The predominant tone of blue or grey is up for debate depending on the lighting and how close you are to viewing the stone. The sun can wash out some of the colors to make it appear grey from a distance but upon closer inspection, the blues become clearly evident.
