Winter Hills is a tumbled mosaic-style natural thin limestone veneer. The stone has a stunning color range consisting of white, buff, and cream tones. Winter Hills has a unique aged old-world appearance due to the irregular mosaic shapes and tumbled finish. The Winter Hills limestone is quarried from the deepest parts of the mine and is extremely hard and durable.
To quarry Winter Hills, large blocks of natural stone are precision blasted and sawn out of the ground. The smaller pieces from the blast are hand-collected. The collected pieces of stone are irregular and jagged before beginning the tumbling process. The stones are sorted for size and fed into the tumbling drum to grind against one another for a smoother finish. The tumbled stone pieces are fed through the diamond saw to create the thin veneer that is Winter Hills.
