The pieces of stone will usually be sawn on the edges to fit the board whereas the actual product will not be. Description

Dakota is a natural hand-picked fieldstone thin veneer in an ashlar pattern.  The stone was created out of demand for a strip-like product with the earthy brown tones and natural beauty of fieldstone.  The individual pieces of thin stone are all semi-consistent with only small variations in height.  This consistency allows your mason to lay a course or row of all the same height pieces of stone. The courses or rows give the appearance that there are strips of stone running across the wall.  This type of installation is quicker than most other patterns and can help reduce costs.
