Hawthorne is a natural sandstone thin veneer cut into consistent 12” x 24” panels. The pieces have a natural or split back due to the consistent 1” thick layers of the quarry. The split back will have no impact on the installation or the durability. The sandstone quarry where we produce Hawthorne has two distinct colors due to the varying minerals settling between the layers of stone. We show the product as a blend of gray/blue and brown pieces just as it comes out of the quarry. When ordering you can request a specified ratio of colors depending on your design goals. The color ratio will never be exact as some stones have both colors within the same piece.
