Matterhorn is a tumbled mosaic style natural thin granite veneer.  The irregular pieces fall into the mosaic style and form a spider web like pattern once installed.  The finished veneer is cut from fractured pieces of natural granite.  The term fracture, in this case, is just as it sounds; the fractured pieces break off from the slabs in the quarrying process.  The pieces suitable for Matterhorn are collected and put through the tumbler.  Tumbling gives the stone a worn or older and more antiqued look.  Lastly, the pieces are sawn in 1.25” thick veneer.  The edges of the pieces are all natural. They have not been split nor sawn.
