We had an excellent experience with the stone from Quarry Mill. They were swift in responding to my calls and questions. I was able to order a custom sample and custom Avalon without any purple pieces. We placed the order and the stone was shipped during the Covid restrictions. We were extremely pleased with the turn around and level of service during this time. The shipping was quick and free, the cost was in our budget, and the stone is the highest quality with beautiful natural details.
Avalon is a low-height natural bluestone thin veneer with a tumbled finish. The colors showcase shades of grey, soft blue, and gunmetal. There are also occasional lavender or lilac-colored pieces. The texture is unusually silky and smooth for natural stone.
Avalon is a naturally straight stone and is not sawn to specified heights. The edges are rounded more than most of our tumbled natural stone options. This rounded style is a result of the vibratory tumbler. Avalon is tumbled with fine gravel, whereas, most of our other tumbled stone options are tumbled in larger drum tumblers. This tumbling process gives Avalon its unique rounded edges and smooth texture.
