Cordoba is a natural ashlar style thin cut sandstone veneer. The stone is sought after for its neutral tones and subtle variation. Cordoba is a blend of splitface and bedface pieces from the same sandstone slabs. The smaller linear pieces are the splitface pieces that are exposed by breaking the stone with a hydraulic press. The larger rectangular castle rock pieces are the bedface pieces. Bedface stone comes from the tops and bottoms of the sandstone slabs. The bedface has more color and variation from the minerals settling between the layers of stone. By incorporating both faces of the stone into the product, Cordoa has a cohesive blend representing the range of colors that come from the quarry.
