Syracuse Natural Thin Stone Veneer
Syracuse is a semi-consistent and monochromatic natural thin stone veneer. The stone is a 100% split face product. The pieces showcase monochromatic color consistency due to being machine cut exclusively from the interior part of the stone slabs. Although most natural thin stone veneers are processed with a hydraulic press called a splitter, Syracuse is unique in that it shows the interior part of the stone exclusively. The splitter exerts pressure to neatly crack the stone slabs and expose the interior of the stone. The term split face or machine cut comes from the splitting process. The color consistency in Syracuse comes from the interior part of the stone being protected from the elements and mineral staining that would typically occur in the quarry.
